The free-from milk category is undeniably in rude health with over 1 in 5 consumers moving away from cow milk; a decision prompted by escalating concerns around health, ethics and the wider environment.

Digging a bit deeper, its clear to see that oat milk continues to dominate the plant-based milk landscape, outstripping its rivals largely on account of Oatly and its cheeky ‘pack chat’ with lactose-free soya and traditional nut milks all flailing in its wake.

But everything’s about to change because Borna Foods has focused its efforts on bringing the king of nuts, the glorious pistachio to the breakfast table, courtesy of lightly sweetened and unsweetened pistachio milks (500ml) that comes complete with added B12 and calcium (from natural sources).

Borna Foods was founded in 2014 by brothers Behnam and Bahram with a misson to provide the tastiest, most innovative, sustainable, and nutritious products to its customers. To achieve this, it sources hand-picked pistachio, almond and cashew nuts from certified farms around the world to use in its range of drinks, butters and snacks.

We had the pleasure of trying out Borna’s pistachio milk and it’s certainly a delicious alternative to other dairy-free milk. The velvety-smooth texture is perfect for teas and coffees, without over-powering the flavour. Its range of nut butter is also super tasty. Our favourite, the crunchy pistachio butter is 100% pure with no additives or oil. The slightly sweet, pistachio flavour makes it perfect on toast!
